Track record: mold correction technology
Mold correction is a design practice in which the shape of the mold's molding surface is modified so that a molded part, which shrinks and deforms as it cools, ends up close to its intended design shape. For example, if a sink mark (a dent) forms on the part, the mold is pre-indented by that amount. With existing methods, indenting a mold CAD surface represented as a NURBS surface caused local waviness; our proprietary algorithm suppresses it. This technology led to a partnership agreement with a mid-sized manufacturer.
